alana craib is a writer and artist from Ithaca, New York.
Her work is often concerned with matters of love, green burial, queer bodies,
mothers and grandmothers, ghosts and memory, the kitchen, and the bog.
Alana is a recipient of the 2024 Andrea K. Willison Poetry Prize, the 2025 Feldman Prize in Fiction,
the 2026 Feldman Prize in Fiction, and the first place winner of Creation Magazine’s 2025 Poetry Postcard Contest.
She holds a BA in Creative Writing and Literary History from Sarah Lawrence College,
and an MFA in the Literary Arts from Brown University.
Alana currently lives in Providence, RI.
In their free time, Alana enjoys playing on the guitar, collecting sentimental objects, collage and dozing.
She is a flash and prose reader for The Plentitudes.
Her work has been or will be supported by the McCormack Writing Center, the Vermont Studio Center, The Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and the Sundress Academy for the Arts.
